Dr Maher Shakarchi DRCOG DCH DA MRCGP (Male)

The Senior Doctor of the practice.
Trained in London, and has been a GP for 23 years.
A very experienced clinician, Dr Shakarchi is a Member of the Royal College of General Practitioners, and previously served on the Professional Executive Committee of the PCT and is currently on Victoria Commissioning Consortium.
Dr Shakarchi performs minor surgery, as well as providing primary care to all the patients. He has a particular interest in pain relief and has advanced certificates in anaesthetics.

Dr Aisha Laskor MRCGP DFFP MBBS (Female)

Dr Laskor trained in London, has been a doctor for 7 years and sees patients for the full range of primary care problems.
Dr Laskor has a number of qualifications in women’s health, Dematology, Ophthalmology and is experienced in ENT in Primary Care. Dr Laskor sees pregnant women and also runs the baby clinic.

Mrs Fella Orlean-Taub BACP snr accred UKRC

Our Practice Counsellor Fella has 20 years experience in counselling and psychotherapy and is senior accredited with the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists. Fella is a wonderful source of support for anyone struggling with low mood, anxiety, bereavement, work related issues, low self-esteem and interpersonal difficulties. In the sessions you will have the opportunity to think about your difficulties and explore your internal struggles.

Practice Nurse

Mrs Maria Fernandes RGN

Our Senior Practice Nurse, Maria has been dedicated to her work at Belgrave Medical Centre for the past 6 years.
Her cheery smile and efficient manner is very popular with the patients. Maria has a number of qualifications in women’s health and is a pioneer of cervical smear testing. She has the highest success rate in all of Westminster.
Maria also loves giving travel advice, and provides the full range of travel vaccinations, whatever your destination.
Maria is also responsible for all patients with chronic diseases, such as diabetes and asthma, and performs the annual checks-ups. Maria is also available for general health screening, and for taking blood tests.

District Nurse

Mr Steven Connor RGN

Our District Nurse, manages a team of community Nurses and health care support workers to provide nursing care in the community. The team also act as a gateway directing referrals to other agencies where appropriate.

Health Visitors

Mrs Angela Joyce (Health Visiting Team Leader)

Our Health Visitor Team Leader, Angela is available for advice and help for all the babies and under 5s. She coordinates all Health Visitors for the Central London Community Healthcare NHS Trust.

Mrs Theresa Akisanya

Our Health Visitor, Theresa is available for advice and help for all the babies and under 5s. She will visit all new mums at home after delivery, and is available at our drop-in baby clinic on Thursday afternoons.

Miss Vanessa Bailey RMN

Our Psychiatry Nurse, Vanessa sees all of our patients with mental health difficulties. Vanessa is dedicated to ensuring that mental health issues are not neglected, and provides regular support at time of need.

Cognitive Behaviour Therapy

Our Cognitive Behavioural Therapist, Tess is available for advice & help for people experiencing mild/ moderate/ severe depression, anxiety, OCD, PTSD, panic attacks or specific phobias.
